Prior Experience

Prior to joining Dopkins, Colin served a multi-year internship at a publicly traded manufacturer in the aerospace and defense industry.  In that capacity, he prepared and reviewed quarterly reports used in financial statement preparation and assisted in the preparation of footnotes to financial statements. Colin also assisted in the in the review and editing process for Form 10-Q before submission to auditors. In addition, he was also invaluable in the process for researching documentation regarding goodwill and intangibles to support decisions made regarding valuation and allocations.  In a tax capacity, Colin assisted in determining the eligibility for items related to federal Research and Development credit.

Community Service

Colin was an active member of the Canisius University community throughout his academic career. Among his many volunteer activities, he served as a mentor for Freshman Accounting students to answer related program questions and also facilitate meetings between freshmen students and Council of Accountancy Member to help them build connections in the business community.  He also served as Treasurer for the Canisius Accounting Society.  In addition, Colin served as a volunteer tax preparer for low-income and elderly taxpayers through Canisius University’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
