Prior Experience
Prior to joining Dopkins, Emily served a multi-year term as an Accounting Specialist for a major logistics company in Western New York. In this capacity, she was responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, the preparation of bank deposits and the reconciliation of monthly statements and assisting with monthly and year end closing processes.
While pursuing her degrees she gained experience at multiple internships, including a semester through the Disney College Program. In this public-facing role she was responsible for many facets of guest relations as well as financial management. She also served an internship at a local Accounting and Tax services firm, where she assisted clients with QuickBooks matters and the preparation of tax returns.
Community Service
- Volunteer, Lower Niagara Community Survivors, a nonprofit dedicated to serving individuals in cancer treatment
- Income Tax Preparer, Volunteer Tax program for low-income and elderly taxpayers through Niagara University’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
