Thomas J. Emmerling Joins Dopkins, leads Dopkins Capital Advisors Service Area
July 8, 2024 – Thomas J. Emmerling recently joined Dopkins & Company, LLP as the Partner-in-Charge of Dopkins Capital Advisors.

Prior to joining Dopkins, Mr. Emmerling was a Senior Associate at Paramax Corporation, where he advised clients from across a wide spectrum of industry sectors on merger & acquisition transactions. He previously served as a Senior Quantitative Risk Analyst at M&T Bank Corp. In that role, he provided financial modeling expertise to the Commercial Bank to monitor credit risk and assess profitability of its tax credit investment portfolio.
At the beginning of his career Mr. Emmerling spent seven years teaching and conducting academic research as a faculty professor at the University of Michigan, Syracuse University, and Baruch College. He has taught over fifteen courses in mathematical finance, fixed income securities and regression analysis at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. As a researcher, Mr. Emmerling has six publications to date in peer-reviewed financial and mathematics journals. He is a current member of the Board of Directors of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Foundation.
