When and Where Does Dopkins Recruit?

Headquartered in Buffalo, NY, our recruiting team visits colleges and universities across Western New York primarily in September — our busiest and most active recruiting season. If we’re not on your campus, we’re still interested in connecting.

We welcome applications from students no matter where they attend school. Many of our strongest candidates grew up in Western New York but studied elsewhere — if that’s you, we’d still love to hear from you.

While fall is when our recruiting team is most active and able to respond quickly, we welcome inquiries and applications year-round — there’s no wrong time to reach out.

Real Support From Day One New hires and interns are paired with a mentor to help answer day-to-day questions and provide guidance as you get up to speed — you’re never left to figure things out entirely on your own.

Hands-On Client Work Rather than sitting on the sidelines, you’ll get exposure to real client engagements early on, working alongside more experienced team members as you build your skills.

Learning the Tools of the Trade You’ll be trained on the software and systems our teams use every day, so you’re building practical, on-the-job experience — not just applying what you learned in the classroom.

More Than Just Work Whether it’s cheering on our team in the local Accountants’ Softball League, competing in the annual Dopkins Classic putting contest, or pitching in for our firm food drive, there’s plenty of ways to connect with colleagues outside the office.

Does Dopkins Help Cover CPA Exam Costs?

We know becoming licensed is a big step, and we want you to get there as soon as possible after graduation. New full-time hires joining us directly from college can take advantage of a CPA exam support program that helps offset exam and review course costs, plus a completion bonus for passing all sections within your first year and a half with the Firm.
